TTi
History
It
all started in 1976 when Shirley and John Brzezinski, a husband
and wife team long involved with technical writing in the aerospace
industry, founded S&J Tech Data Service Company.
Initially,
S&J Tech Data operated out of a small office in the couple's
home, but in a short while, with numerous technical writers
on staff, the company moved its operations to an office in Utica,
Michigan. During those early years, S&J Tech Data provided
services as a subcontractor for various suppliers to the automotive
industry. The company's focus was providing research and development
of service manuals and publications. Soon, these services expanded
to include training program development.
In
1984, achieving tremendous growth, the facility again expanded;
technical trainers were added and Technical Training, Inc. (TTi)
was formed as a subsidiary of S&J. Initially, TTi taught
evening classes for the automotive industry with just a handful
of instructors.
In
1986, both companies moved to the current headquarters in Rochester
Hills, Michigan. All major departments are now located there,
including Field Operations, Training and Publications, Sales,
Human Resources, Accounting, and International Operations.
In
1991, Lori Blaker was named President of TTi. In 1992, John
Brzezinski passed away. Shirley Brzezinski took over as CEO.
By
1993, S&J's reputation for recruiting talented and knowledgeable
personnel was so impressive that they were ranked as the 64th
fastest-growing, privately-owned company in the state of Michigan
by BDO Seidman and WWJ radio. In 1994, TTi had the honor of
rising to the number 21 spot of that same list. Since then,
TTi has found itself on the list in 1996, 1997, 1998, and 1999.
Since
becoming president, Ms. Blaker has expanded the service capabilities
of TTi. The corporation was so successful in recruiting talented
and knowledgeable personnel that they began providing outsourcing
services to automotive customers. The outsourcing of this technical
talent enabled TTi to absorb S&J, and in 1994 the entire
corporation was reorganized to become a full-service provider
of training resources and support services worldwide.
Starting
in 1996, to serve our customers more effectively on a global
basis, TTi opened offices in China, Taiwan, Japan, Thailand,
Mexico, Brazil, Chile, and Venezuela. This global presence allows
TTi to provide cost-effective training and support services
to customers around the world.
TTi
now boasts over 800 employees between North American and International
operations, with a wide range of service solutions, including
Resource Personnel, Instructional Systems Design, Business Operations
Development, and e-Learning. Our skill and experience can help
create and manage training solutions effectively all across
the world.
